Yay for the Weekend and Birthday Parties

crazy elbow
I have 7 minutes to publish this post! Yikes. It's usually takes me a whopping 3 hours to get my thoughts organized into written form, pictures taken/edited, and links up before I can hit publish. And I somehow still end up with with a gazillion typos and grammar mistakes.  How long does it take you to write a post?

I'm looking forward to the weekend. It's my husband's birthday and I vow to do better than last year! Speaking of which, I need to pick up a Snickers bar and Coke. His new favorite combo. I've been paying attention to these things since last year.  I also booked a babysitter and bought tickets for us to see War Horse through LincTix. Check out their awesome deals for anyone between the ages for 20-35!

I haven't book a restaurant yet. Anyone have any recommendations for restaurants around Lincoln Center? If I've learned one about going to Chinatown, is that I trust word of mouth recommendations from friends way more the my Michelin guide or even Yelp.

Hope you have a fun weekend!!! Thanks again to everyone who donated to Fred's Team!

  1. Totally random but I have those elbows! It freaks everyone out, especially my family. I have never seen anyone else with it - so fun! Great party trick :)

  2. I can totally relate to the spending lots of time crafting a post. Blogging is harder than it looks! Some posts (outfit related ones done in Photoshop) take me three hours or more, and others (just mentioning a cute product or DIY) take me ten minutes. I love hearing about how other bloggers work, so interesting.

Have a great birthday evening with your hubby! Date nights are a necessity!

  3. Bar Boulud is a good restaurant around Lincoln Center. Went last week, food is good. Only drawback is the service kinda sucks.

  5. Birthday dates are the best. So much fun!

Sometimes when I'm writing a post, I let it sit for a few days or even a few weeks, coming back to it and re-writing when I feel like it. With other posts (some of my best) I write them on a whim and click publish when I'm done. I'll usually catch a few typos here and there, but I like the overall feel of writing when inspiration strikes.

  7. War Horse is wonderful, what a fun night you have planned. I live 2 blocks from the theater so you'll be in my neighborhood! My recommendation would be Rosa Mexicano, authentic Mexican cuisine, beautiful & interesting decor

  13. Oh my have so much fun at War Horse! It's magnificently breathtaking. As for restaurants, I love Cafe Ronda- it's Spanish and is delicious, also a nice setting. It's on 70th street and Columbus. If you like Japanese, Amber is on the same street.

  14. It usually takes me about 1-1.5 hours if I'm really motivated and ready to go. Happy early birthday to your husband. Snickers and coke sounds really good right now.

  15. It takes me forever to hit 'publish' as well. It's good to hear I'm not the only one. I just realised that I'm taking my time with this comment as well, rereading, deleting, checking spelling, thinking "what else?".
    Happy birthday to your husband!
