A Balanced Life: The Results

Photo by Paul Ferney on this day

Remember when I was asked to speak about Balance? And I set goals to help me do the things that mattered most and less of the things that were wasting my time?  It's been an interesting project. Thanks for all the comments. Your suggestions helped motivate me along the way. Here's a small excerpt of what I ended up speaking about:
One of my goals was to spend 20 minutes with Ella everyday. I told her she could pick whatever she wanted to do. She decided to call it "Ella's Game." During one of these times, she wanted to go to the park. On our way there, we were talking and suddenly Ella interrupted and said, “Mom, I want to be just like you!” I was surprised when she said this and really honored that she wanted to be just like me. It made me want to be a better mom and example for her. I kind-of forgot that this was part of the mother-daughter agenda. If nothing else came out my get balanced challenge and all I had was this moment, it was worth it.
More updates on the Balance Challenge: I never got to bed by 10:30pm during the entire process and didn't even attempt to relearn my balance beam back-handspring. Both goals seem equally impossible.  I will continue to work on my balancing act even though I finished speaking about it. I'll keep you posted if anything spectacular happens!

  2. Hi Sharon! I'm new around here and I'm glad I stumbled upon your blog. Reading your excerpt got me teary-eyed. I too am a mother to a little girl. And I would be more than honored if one day she says that to me.

Great blog you have here. I will definitely be looking around some more. Your kids are gorgeous!
