Would the owners of this shirt or its equivant please chime in? I went to a party last month and I was one of three people wearing it. I'm just waiting for an episode of Portandia to make fun of it. Until then, I will continue to wear it shamelessly.  Speaking of Portandia, for the past few months, I've prided myself in not "putting a bird on it". Click here for the episode. After seeing that video, I was like: I was tempted! But I didn't! I win! I even bragged to my friend Joanna about my very sophisticated sense of style and my ability avoid such silly trends. Then yesterday. Look what I found!

(yes I am standing in front of a self portrait)

On the wallpaper that I use in every picture when I'm trying to look cool: Is a BIRD! And it's almost exactly the bird the writers of Portlandia were making fun of! I'm such a cliche.

What trends have you followed that you hide your head in embarrassment now and wonder to yourself: How did I let that happen?!

  1. I don't care if that shirt's a cliche. I want it. As for me, I kinda cringe whenever I look at my "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster. I thought I was SO original when I bought it a few years ago. Not so much.

  5. Gingham is everywhere, so don't sweat it. Mine's in a bright pink and super loose, just the way I like my clothes.

My husband and I both have black Northface coats - so if and when we wear them at the same time, we're basically matching. So, that's embarassing.

  10. I have that shirt. My husband bought it for me and wants me to wear it all the time. He's so proud of himself whenever he sees it anywhere (which is all the time). We should have a plaid shirt party:)

  11. I bought a shirt a few days ago with birds on it, and I bought it to wear ironically, because I enjoy Portlandia and I wanted to ironically "put a bird on it."

  12. Hahaha! Put a bird on it! I love Portlandia. It's gotta' be my favorite show on TV right now.

The last trend that I gave in to that I ended up cursing myself for was the powder blue velour jumpsuit trend (I'm so ashamed!). Thankfully, this was in high school and there are NO pictures of me in it. But I'll always have that memory to haunt me...

  13. I'd laugh but I'm wearing that shirt sitting in my living room which has no less than three different pieces with birds on them. Do peacocks count? ;)

Oh yes, I own that shirt, but my gingham print is slightly bigger. I have noticed recently that I wear it with pretty much everything...

Also, I think I saw you at the Museum of Natural History on Monday (hard to make that sound normal and not kind of blogger-stalking creepy)... I was with my mom, who was visiting, and we both read your blog. Hope you had a nice day there!

  27. It's a good shirt. No doubt. This winter I'm the 3rd person to walk in anywhere in faux leopard fur coat. One time at H&M I had to try to stay away from some girl who was trying to rub furs with me.
