Matchy Matchy

What's worse: That I dress my kids exactly like 30-something moms? Or that I color coordinate my kids clothes to the playground equipment? I have problems!

The truth is, both of these playground mishaps happened accidentally. Thanks to my kids and Joanna for being such good sports!

Have you ever walked into work or down the street and noticed you had the same thing on as someone else? This blog captures those moments. So funny!

  1. That's pretty funny. I often times look at my boys outfits for the day and realize they are in the same colors as me... that's what happens if I pick out their clothes I guess.

  4. Breton stripes - Jeans and Chuck Taylors. Such a classic and it works really well on both Joanna and your wonderful boy. A situation like this could be awkward but I suppose this look is absolutely age and genderless. My husband and I really (! really it's crazy) often come out of the bathroom in the morning to find out we are wearing the same thing (like skinny jeans - chuck tailors - denim shirt or a black blazer). He always makes me change because I own more clothes.. so unfair.. ;-). Can be annoying when you're really feeling like the particular outfit but funny at the same time.

ps. I love your blog Sharon! Thank you so much for sharing your life and adorable kids' stories.

  6. I started reading your blog when Joanna posted about how great you dress your boys. This really shows the width of your trendsetting qualities! You even inspire grown up mommies like Joanna. (Or Joanna was indirectly complimenting her own style.. lol).

ps. Funny: I own the exact same Clarks shoes as your boys and I'm a 25 year old girl.

  8. I sometimes dress like my dates! I've been on two dates where I matched the guy! One was when I wore a polo shirt and the other was a navy blue peasant shirt.. and his was just a navy blue tshirt. Ever since, I am acutely aware of dressing a little more girly than I may have otherwise. :)

  11. Love the photo of your son and Joanna! Is it a bad idea that I want to dress my son and husband in matching outfits? :)

Where is that playground your daughter is playing on? I've never seen such a colorful NYC playground. The ones where we live uptown are all colorless -standard black rubber, metals and wood.

  12. One more then one occasion my mom and I have shown up to things in matching outfits, it helps I am a curvy size 10 and she is a straight size 4 but we have still gotten some weird looks being coordinated adults.

  13. This is really funny. This could easily happen to me. My daughter asked for skinny jeans "like mommy's". Luckily she wears hers with flats and i wear mine with boots. Otherwise, we'd be twinsies everyday. :)

  17. Haha, I absolutely love your humor, Sharon. That picture of your son and Joanna is absolutely brilliant. The look on his face, is definitely something along the lines of, "I wear it better." And as for dressing your kids to match playground equipment... that's some smart thinking. No one ever thinks to do that! Well done. :)
