Perfect Little Black Dress

Hey--I have to leave for a job interview in ten minutes. So nervous. I had one hour yesterday to find something to wear for my interview. Every dress I own has been stained, torn, and worn to death. The solution? Zara. As soon as I saw this dress, I knew it was perfect. It is. Size Large! ha I replaced their belt with one of mine to make it less stuffy and I'm ready to go. Wish me luck. If nothing else, at least I'm the proud owner of the perfect little black dress. I've always wanted one!

Update: Interview went great! Thanks for the encouragement! More details next week. In the mean time, here's how I accessorized. The shoes and the belt don't exist online anymore, but you might be able to find them in stores.

Scarf from Urban Outfitters
Shoes (not exact, but close) from Banana Republic. My Peep toe wedge (pictured) was only $38! Originally $120!
Belt from Anthropologie (look for it in stores perhaps)

  2. Good luck. And like you said, at least now you have a perfect black dress. If it doesn't get you that job, I'm sure it will do something else lovely for you.

  9. I love this dress and want to buy it. There are no Zara's in MN. Can someone help me with sizing? I see the guide but can someone give me an idea of how they run? I'm 5'3 and 110 lbs, 34C and broad shoulders. At Ann Taylor I wear a 0 or 2, would a small fit me or is the cut slimmer that I'd need a medium? Thanks.

    1. Good question. I think a small would be perfect. I'm 5'5" 140 lbs and the large fit perfectly. I tried the XL and it was swimming on me. Also--because I don't have long, supermodel legs, it hits at the knee. Hope this helps!

    2. Thank you. I ordered the small and medium, then I'll be set either way and can return the one that doesn't fit. I plan to wear to a wedding next weekend. Thank you so much for posting this dress. I love that it can work for an interview, a funeral, a wedding, a night out. It pretty much runs the gamut.

  11. I have those shoes in grey suede! They are literally my favorite shoes I've ever owned - comfy enough I can run around the city all day, and they take me from work to dinner. I WISH I could find them again! BTW... congrats on the new job :-)

  12. I have those footwear in dull suede! They are basically my preferred footwear I've ever possessed - comfortable enough I can run around the town all day, and they take me from perform to evening meal. I WISH I may discover them again!
