NYC Glamour: The Red Carpet Kids Hollywood Premiere Family Weekend Package at the Four Seasons

  

We had the most glamorous weekend in NYC. The Four Seasons asked us and a few other families to experience their new Red Carpet Kids Hollywood Premiere Family Weekend Package. From the moment we checked in until the time we caught a cab home, we were treated like Hollywood royalty. It's by far, the coolest thing we've ever done in the city . . . 

The hotel room. Oh man, the hotel room. To put it in perspective, it was slightly bigger than our apartment! We were given a one-bedroom suite with views of the Empire State building and the Chrysler building. The kids kept giggling at all the gifts the staff had prepared for them. Everything from backpacks filled with toys and goodies, to our room's dining table filled with chocolates, candies, and cookies, to baseball caps and shirts for the kids on another table. 

However, the 3 shower kits filled with shampoo, conditioner, and bubble bath waiting in the bathroom had them squealing with delight. This is when party started. They all hopped into the tub for an ultimate bubble bath with jets. It would be the first of 5 bubble baths they would take over the next 3 days. When they got out, they put on their bath robes and slippers. I had to take their picture as they stood in front of the window with the view of the Empire State building. This happened multiple times during our stay.

And despite Oscar's strong opinion to close curtains during dinner (he kept shutting them with a switch of a button), I demanded it was our backdrop as we ate. The weekend couldn't have gotten off to a better start. And the best was yet to come!

The next morning, my kids and 3 other families received improv acting lessons at the hotel from Eva Shure and Craig Saslow, the founders of Red Carpet Kids. In thirty minutes, they had the kids learning each others names, bouncing around the room, and creating stories. It was during the class that I fell in love with Eva and Craig. It was easy to see why they founded Red Carpet Kids. Their joy and devotion to children is remarkable. They made each kid feel special and comfortable to try new silly games. Eva and Craig were so approachable and friendly not only to the kids, but to the parents. This is going to be the secret to their success. I just know it.

Later on that day (after a bubble bath and naps!), we were whisked away to the Upper East Side to check out the private 5,000 square foot Red Carpet Kids mansion. Unbelievable. There were two butlers (with English accents no less) greeting us as we entered the whimsical parlor room of the mansion. Eva (in character) led everyone to the courtyard for a VIP check-in with press interviews and paparazzi taking photos. Later the personal butlers assisted with getting the “actors and actresses” into costume and makeup for their roles. Ella's costume was inspired by the dress Audrey Hepburn wore in My Fair Lady. It was a perfect fit. ;)

And Action! With the help from a director, film producer, and cameraman, all the kids used their improv acting skills in front of a green-screen to make very own short film. Ella loved her shrink ray prop and the boys loved pretending to fly. As the clips from the shoot were dropped into a film, everyone ate dinner (pizza for kids, sushi for the adults), made crafts, and even watched one of the butlers juggle.

Then the announcement was made, "It's time to unveil the movie! Head to the theater for popcorn and your favorite candy!" The movie was so fun and everyone was giggling at the storyline line about Caption Evil taken over the universe. After the movie, all the kids won Oscars at an award ceremony. You can image how excited this made Oscar. "That's my name! Your winning an award with my name!!"

That night back at the Four Seasons, we were greeted with cupcakes and a DVD copy of their movie for a keepsake. Let the after party begin! 

The next day we took it easy and had breakfast at The Garden before checking out of the hotel. I never wanted to leave, but you should have heard Owen. He really never wanted to leave. He's decided he's going to live in the Four Seasons when he grows up. After a weekend like that, I can't imagine why not.
