On Saturday, my friend Naomi hooked me up with tickets to see her husband Ryan (aka
Kaskade) perform at a (sold out!) show at the Barclays Center. Look at him standing on the table. The command he has over the crowd is extraordinary. They eat him up.
On the subway ride home, a guy from the concert started a conversation with Rob and me by exclaiming, "I just have to say it. That was amazing!" I agreed. You just have to say it. I told him I would pass the message on. He then proceeded to spell his name R-A-M-O-N to clear up any confusion. So there it is Naomi. Ramon (NOT Ramone) said the show was amazing. Please pass it on to Ryan.
This time, I didn't want to make the
same concert fashion blunders I've made in the past. My options were either Rob's jeans or
the red dress I've worn to death lately. Those weren't going to do. I kick scooted my way all the way to Madewell to see if I could come up with something better. I had one hour.
Madewell is nailing it this season.
J.Crew seems a little too preppy and precious and girly for my taste lately. I know they are the same store, but I like the young tomboy vibe of
Madewell. Their prices are out of control, but worth the splurge. It's all about quality over quantity for me. I'd rather get one pair of jeans from Madewell over an entire outfit (with shoes) from H&M. And plus, everything fits me better at Madewell. Their size M dresses/tops and 28 pants are made for my body. Makes shopping so much easier.
In a matter of minutes, I fell in love with
this pair of jeans (no muffin top) and
this silk blouse. I already had
the boots from last year to complete the outfit. I felt like a rock star. If only I could pose like one . . .

thanks for the glamour shots, Rob. i'm working it. |
The night was unlike anything I normally experience. I was so glad to be there with Rob
this time. After the cocktail party, we danced our asses off until the show was over at 12am. And while I was easily 10 years older than most of the people in the audience, I didn't feel it. That is, until Naomi invited us to the after party. Wait, what? People continue on for a few more hours? I'm done. I thanked her for the fabulous night and moon walked my way right out of the venue. It's been two days and I'm still recovering. Oh, the life of a friend of a wife of a rock star is soo exhausting.

A girl came up to Rob at the concert and asked, "Do people ever tell you you look exactly like Terry Richardson?"
So Creepy! But perhaps a stellar couples Halloween costume idea? I'll be Miley! |
