Weight Gain is a Bitch/Feeling Husky/Eating Alone, Check.
I've gained some weight since Christmas, but I'm still squeezing into all my clothes. It ain't pretty. I decided to do something about it. As a desperate cry for help, I reconnected with my health coach with this simple plea, "I feel awful and want to hide." I bought these deli roses for myself on the way home to cheer me up. Here's to rose colored glasses and all that jazz.

ReplyDeleteI've been feeling the same way; instead of doing a specific diet that's hard to keep up, especially when you have kids, I've stopped eating sugar and carbs after 4.00 (which is time for "le goƻter" where I live)I've lost weight and especially, I feel a lot less bloated and my pants all fit better. I hope it helps!
ReplyDeleteI have been feeling the same way. Between moving into a new apartment, selling a ton of stuff on Craigslist, and work, my gym routine has fallen apart. I actually told Brian a few days ago that I felt like Hulk and that any minute my clothing would just rip from being stretched out! You are not alone!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both. 10 pounds. Yesterday my pants were too tight and the button on my house popped open. Low moments. I started a new workout routine and will be watching what I eat.

I am so with you. I've gained about 10 pounds since moving to Australia a year ago. I've been working really hard to lose it, but no dice. So now, I'm going to do Michelle Bridges 12TBM. I know three people who just finished doing it, and they look amazing.
ReplyDeleteEvery single year around March/April I feel the exact same way. It's the dragging, dull end of season that really seems to keep the lbs from going anywhere. The body is naturally designed to gain in the winter some come spring it will be easier to get back to the way you feel most comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI just started going wheat free. Sounds insane but after reading Wheat Belly it changed my perspective on wheat. I definitely feel less puffy and bloated and have lost some weight. Something to consider. Xo
i feel the same way, my weight hasn't really gone up much but my clothes fit weird. sigh. i think i'm still in the acceptance phase of my body is not the same as it was pre-baby. not that that body was perfect, but at least familiar. sigh, rambling.

i follow your blog every now and then. i always thought "wow, this girl really got it together: great kids, interesting job, lived in SF, now in NY, still finds the time to blog"- till i read this post. really? feeling like crap about yourself because u gained few pounds? last fall i lost 2 friends to cancer. one was 37 the other 38. one left behind a 16 month old and the orher 6 and 8 year old. do you think that in the last months of their lives they worried about how much they weigh or if their clothes fit too thight? honestly, get a grip woman. you are educated, smart wife and mother! i would expect to read a post like that written by some insecure 20 year old, but not you. i don't mean to be critcal, i'm just sick and tired of great, smart women feeling down bc of our weight! we've come so far and yet the effing number on a scale throws everthing off. i for one am done with it. maybe because i turned 40 last year and don't give a crap anymore. i'm going to hug my kid and take my dog for a walk. good luck to you.

DeleteJoanna it is okay for someone to have a day when they feel frustrated with their weight ( or kids or husband or circumstances in life). Do you never complain about anything? If so good for you, but it is definitely normal and healthy to share feelings of frustration! Also, very sad to hear of your friend's story, but using it as some example of why to be grateful is off putting.
